The pandemic might be over but in the current era of fiscal and political activism public debt continues to rise globally and is forecast to reach 114% of GDP by 2029 according to the IMF. While debt is set to rise, Trading Post is unconvinced that US debt will hit 132%, simply does not believe the Asian forecasts and is sceptical about the European figures. A fiscal crisis is not imminent. However, the downside risks are rising for the US as the dollar’s role as the global reserve currency diminishes. Europe is equally concerning.  Diversify out of US and European sovereigns into Indian, Indonesia, Taiwanese and Korean.
